World’s powerful person U.S President Barack Obama has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yes, it’s official. Obama has sent the invitation through US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns. Mr Burns met Home MInister Rajnath Singh on Friday. “I met Union Home Minister to discuss bilateral issues, homeland security among others,” he told reporters outside the Ministry.
Mr Burns is here to chalk out the path to the forthcoming Strategic Dialogue as well as Modi’s meeting with American President Barack Obama.
It may be recalled that United States had denied Visa to Modi over 2002 Gujarat riots when Modi was the CM of Gujarat. When asked about it, Mr Burns replied, “”we look forward to a great partnership and we wish Modi great success ahead.”
