Nearly 24 students, including 12 girl students, from VNR Vignan Jyothi Engineering college in Hyderabad are feared to have been washed away in Beas river near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The tragic incident occurred at around 6.00 pm on Sunday when the students, who were on their way to Kulu Manali, stopped at the river side to click pictures. There was a sudden release of water from the Largi dam on the river in which the students are feared to have been swept away. Rescue operations are on.
50 Students from College have gone for study tour. Tour manager Kiran has spoken to media over phone and narrated the tragic incident. One girl student Prathyusha was sobbing and pleaded media for help. According to her, no officials have contacted them till now.
