It’s Akkineni’s Manam all the way at the Box Office this week, as viewers lined up in theatres for tickets all over Andhra and even overseas, to establish 1st record day. The three generation senti-drama has clocked Rs 7.5 crores on May 23 and it is said to be highest first  day collection for both Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya.

Approximate fist day collections

Nizam– 2 crore
Andhra– 3 crore
Ceded– 1.5 crore
Overseas– 1 crore plus

With youth, masses and family audience queued up in the holiday season, the much-talked about Manam is expected to rake in more than 18 crores in the first week.

2. It looks like Rajni lost out to Akkineni as Vikramasimha received average response at the Box Office since it just managed to collect 2 crore plus all over Andhra, despite getting release in more than 45-odd theatres in twin cities.

Nizam-70 lakh
Andhra-80 lakh
Ceded– 45 lakh

Lets see, how children will connect to this 3D technology.

3. Producer Gangaraju received a thumbs down from the viewers this summer as his comic-caper “Amrutham…Chandmama Lo” a rehash of his sitcom, just managed to collect 65 lakh in the last 1 week and release of Manam would affect it badly.

4. Less said the better about other non-performking films like “Ak Rao, PK Rao” and “Premalo Padipoyanu” and other small films.
