Union minister Chiranjeevi received a shock in his native Mogalturu village of West Godavari district, in the Panhayat elections. Likewise the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the party’s honorary president Vijayamma also received shock in their native Pulivendula.

An Independent candidate was elected as Sarpanch in Mogalturu.  Jagan and Vijayamma also received shock. In Pulivendula, known as a fortress of the YSR family, TDP candidate Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was elected. It may be mentioned that Vijayamma is representing the Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa.
