In an initiative to create more safety and security for women roaming in metros like Hyderabad, these ‘Pink Autos’ are coming up. This unique transport service will provide way for safe travel of women, as they are driven by women who are not just good drivers, but also good defenders of any attack.
Vaada Foundation, an organization setup to educate people about safety while driving, and about dangers in violating traffic rules, has now taken this job of creating ‘Pink Autos’. With the intention of only to transport women, these Pink Autos will be driven by lady drivers who are trained in following all traffic rules efficiently. Also the foundation trains these women drivers in soft-skills that help communicate with their passengers effectively and smoothly. Apart from this, Vaada will help them in sourcing autos to drive, and get those driving licences and other requisite permissions after learning driving. Ladies below 45 years of age, and who can converse in Telugu and Hindi are being selected by Vaada Foundation for this job.
