Modi’s impact on T-govt employees

kcrFollowing the demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee notes, Telangana government is reportedly witnessed a huge economic crunch and the monthly income of state, usually 9000 crore, took a severe beating. In view of these events, the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had a meeting with higher officials of state to discuss on how to handle the deficit.

After discussing and debating many aspects and aftermaths of Modi’s move, the state govt seems to have landed at a conclusion. Right now, they’re mulling over 25-50% salary cut for Telangana government Employees and pensioners in order to cope up the deficit balance sheet. However, they will be paid back once government is back in business with adequate budget.

Considering the halt in registrations and tax, the state govt is expecting a 4000 crore shortfall in monthly revenue. So, it is assumed that this development would impact 3.5 lakh employees and a total of 2500 crore is spent on salaries and pensions every month. Also, on other hand, a large group of people expecting to see inflation going down, which would be a throw a bang on annual DA hikes.

It can be recalled that Chief Minister KCR called on governor ESL Narasimham to discuss the economic crunch being faced by state, following the ban on higher denomination notes.
