KCR’s trip to Singapore is the most talked about topic in Telangana currently; but only time will decide on what will be the outcome of this tour! According to Chief Minister’s Additional Secretary, KCR had meetings with potential investors and members of Chamber of Commerce of India and Singapore. There is an intriguing point in this!
Tamilians form majority community among the Indians living and settled in Singapore; followed by Telugus. Majority of the Telugus living in this island nation are native of districts that now belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. People belonging to Telangana living in Singapore are very less in numbers and they also do not belong to the rich segment.
Considering Telangana is a land-locked State, will the companies or investors based in Singapore be interested in the 29th State of India, is a question one needs to wait to find an answer! Majority of businesses operating from Singapore and Malaysia are port intensive; so it would be interesting to see if the Chief Minister of Telangana is knocking on the wrong door!
