Congress MP Palwai Govardhan Reddy on Wednesday opposed the methodology being adopted to bifurcate Rajya Sabha seats between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Palwai said that the MPs could not be allocated to Andhra Pradesh or Telangana by drawing of lots. He said a legislation should be passed in the Rajya Sabha or specific guidelines should be framed to bifurcate the Rajya Sabha seats. He said the present system of division would cause injustice to Telangana region.
Meanwhile, the bifurcation of Rajya Sabha seats between the two States could not be concluded on Wednesday following opposition by the MPs from both the regions. The division was later postponed to May 30.
