Director Anand Ranga is producing a movie titled ‘Poga’ which happens to be a horror thriller directed by Shankar Marthand. Apparently the movie’s first half deals with death of an actress, loosely inspired by Pratyusha’s tale, and by interval the dead actress turns into a ghost. Rest of the movie is all about how the ghost takes revenge and gets the culprit punished. As people might have forgotten Pratyusha’s death already, they may not be much amused, but for ‘Poga’ her story is surely a big asset.
Pratyusha rose to fame in 2000 after becoming a successful Telugu heroine on Kollywood silver screen she acted in half a dozen Tamil flicks. Also her flick ‘Kalusukovalani’ with Uday Kiran won her accolades before Pratyusha committed suicide along with her lover on 23rd February 2002 by consuming poison. While she is dead, her lover was saved by doctors. There are several mystery conclusions around Pratyusha’s death, including suspicion of a murder. Court sentenced her lover to five years imprisonment for abetting suicide.
