Assam has been affected badly with the floods and the situations have been such worse in the past three decades. Over 10 lakh people have been badly affected and most of them have been taking their rescue in the relief camps.

Indian Air Force, Indian Army, State Disaster Response Force and National Disaster Response Force have been taking care of the rescue operations.

However on the eve of Independence Day, a picture from Assam has been going viral over the internet which showcases four Assamese hoisting and saluting the national flag in the floods.

With half covered with water, the people showed their respect towards the country. Rail and road connectivity has been suspended due to floods across the state.
