The extended meeting of the YSR Congress was held in the party office here on Friday. Addressing it, party’s honorary president Vijayamma called upon party ranks to undertake protest programmes in a large way on May 27, when Jagan was arrested last year. She told party workers to enlighten the people, how the government was showing a vindictive attitude towards Jagan. She also told the ranks to give memorandums to the Governor and the President.
Vijayamma asked the leaders to concentrate on strengthening the party. Stating that party has to be strong at the village level, to win the local body elections, she advised ranks to choose good leaders. Stating that every worker should work like a soldier, she said dereliction of this duty would not be tolerated.
Vijayamma has alleged that the Congress and the TDP have been working in tandem ever since the YSRCP was launched. Advising party leaders to respond to people’s problems, she said only then the party would be strengthened. She also counseled party leaders to give importance to all the castes. He advised the cadres to work hard and not to waste even a single day. Stating that the current year was important for the party, she said the local elections would serve as semi finals for the party.
Odarpu Yatra or Bus Yatra
Party leader Bajireddy Govardhan told the media after the meeting that Vijayamma might undertake a Odarpu Yatra or bus yatra in the Telangana region. He said the aim of all of them was to make Jagan the Chief Minister. He said the meeting also decided to spurn the media propaganda about dissidence in the party effectively.
