Speaking to a news channel, Lagadapati said: “During a flight journey, Brother Anil approached me to seek my opinion on the constituency Sharmila has to contest in 2014 Polls. He said to me that Jagan wishes to field her either from Malkajgiri or Vizag. I explained him both of these Lok Sabha constituencies were too risky as they fall in Urban area. I told him to prefer Anakapalli or Ongole or any other segment which falls in rural area.”
The former MP claimed he would have given the same advise if YS Vijayamma approached her. He opined there is a neck-and-neck battle between Vijayamma and Kambhampati Haribabu in Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency. He went on to say it will be one of the biggest mistakes of Jagan’s political career if Vijayamma gets defeated as its painful for many to see YSR’s Widow on the losing side.
