In a major fillip to the investments in Hyderabad, India’s largest biotech company Biocon has agreed to set up its 500-Crore Research and Development (R&D) unit in the Genome Valley of Hyderabad. Biocon’s subsidiary firm Syngene’s R&D unit to be established in the Genome Valley with a whopping Rs 500 Crore investment. This new R&D unit is expected to create over 1000 high-profile jobs.
Biocon MD Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who met IT and Industries Minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao during the Bio Asia-2018 conference at HICC on Friday, corroborated the investment and expansion plans of Biocon in Hyderabad. She confirmed that the Biocon would expand its operations in Hyderabad which would create 500 more jobs. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw heaped praises on KT Rama Rao and KCR for developing the new state of Telangana.
KTR has presented a video on the upcoming Pharma City, Medical Devices Park and Genome Valley Phase-2. KTR has sought the support of Kiran Mazumdar Shah to support Hyderabad more by investing in the city. Kiran said that KTR is an inspiration to industrialists and said that certainly Hyderabad tops in the list of investments for firms.
KTR stated that Hyderabad will soon host a special summit with 20 top-level firms. He asked Kiran Mazumdar Shah to attend the summit and speak at the event.
