In a statement issued from Ongole, he said he had resigned as a protest against the attitude of the ruling Congress on the bifurcation of the state. He demanded that Congress should first state its stand on bifurcation and then hold consultations on the issue. He charged Congress of playing with the future of the people. He pointed out that the ruling party was yet to state its own stand on bifurcation. Alleging that the Congress party was only thinking of its votes and seats he said the ruling party was causing chaos in the state.
The state division issue appears to be taking serious turns. YSR Congress MLA and former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy has resigned to the Assembly. He faxed his resignation letter to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
