AP municipal minister P Narayana today declared that the works of the new capital will begin within six months. He said he is meeting the Shivaramakrishna committee on July 22nd, and get their feed back on the suitable location ( acceptable to all ) which will be debated. “We will also submit cost estimates for approval by the centre for the new capital,” he said.
After touring some countries including Singapore, Europe and Hong Kong we will give a final report on capital city within three months, said the minister. ” We will study eight cities of the world as model for transportation, power, water , civic facilities , hospitals and finally community service,” said the minister.
Buzz has it that AP Government is keen to set up a world-class capital between Vijayawada and Guntur. The official statement on this will be made in a week.
