TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao has won from both the Medak Lok Sabha and the Gajwel Assembly constituencies. While KCR won the Medak Lok Sabha seat with a huge margin of 4.70 lakh votes, he got elected from Gajwel Assembly seat by a margin of 19,391 votes.
It is the second time for KCR to repeat this feat as he had won both Karimnagar Lok Sabha and Siddipet Assembly segments in 2004 elections. He had retained the Karimnagar and left the Siddipet seat to his nephew T Harish Rao.However, sources say that KCR might retain the Gajwel Assembly seat as he is likely to be elected the leader of TRS Legislature Party to enable him to take oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana State.
K.Chandrasekhara Rao, who is considered to be the father of Telangana fought for the separate state over the decade. Although the Congress party divided the state, the voters of Telangana heartily believed the whole credit of the separate state wold go to KCR and that’s why they have given a thumping majority( 65+ MLA seats) to the TRS in the general elections.
Other side The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has bagged Eleven Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.Party chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao won the Medak Lok Sabha seat, while his daughter K. Kavitha was elected from Nizamabad.TRS leader Kadiam Srihari won from Warangal. Party candidates also won from Adilabad, Zahirabad and Karimnagar.
