The latest talk doing rounds in film nagar is that Venkatesh’s upcoming film Drushyam, remake of Malayalam hit of same name, is in turn a rip off of yesteryear Telugu film Jagannatakam starring Jagapathi Babu and Meena.

Directed by Mohan Gandhi, the 1991 film features Kaikala Satyanarayana, Sarada in pivotal roles. The original film, jointly produced by Radha Krishna and Chalapathi Rao, has Meena playing as a young girl. Now in Drushyam, Meena is rumoured to be seen in Sarada’s role and the script has been slightly altered. The family drama, produced by Suresh Babu, is slated for July 11 release. Let’s wait and see whether Drushyam applies brakes to Venky’s flop spree.
