Congress shunted out Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmiah following orders from President Sonia Gandhi. She even appointed Uttam Kumar Reddy as the party’s new chief in Telangana. Buzz is Ponnala was consoled that he would be accommodated at national level in the party.
Right after taking over as party chief Uttam Kumar announced his future plans for Congress in Telangana. He added that he will walk through thorns to bring back glory for Congress in Telangana. Apart from that he vowed to ensure victory of Congress in Hyderabad and Warangal MLC elections.
Some party leaders say he shouldn’t have made such challenge as defeating ruling TRS is near impossible and if he fails in his challenge it would be viewed as failure. Party even deliberated whether to contest elections and after feeling that it would be lot of face, announced its candidates.
Analysts say Uttam Kumar is turning Uttar Kumar, son of Virat Raj in Mahabharata who boasted that he would defeat mighty Bheeshma,Karna,Drona,Ashwathama in Kaurava camp.
