We may not immediately recognize if someone says ‘anchor Harshavardhan’. But when we hear someone saying ‘Crime Watch’ program, we can certainly recognize him with his face. He became famous with his Crime Watch TV program but freshly facing an allegation of extortion.
Vijayawada police arrested him last evening and thus the incident has come to light. As per the police, Harshavardhan demanded the correspondent of St Joseph Dental College, Pedavegi, West Godavari District for Rs 5 Cr threatening him that a defaming program will be telecasted on TV channels if he denies.
But Correspondent Bala approached police and gave a complaint to SP Raghu Rami Reddy. Police first arrested Luke Babu, who helped Harshavardhan in this incident. Finally Harshavardhan was arrested in Vijayawada.
Harshavardhan belongs to Tandragunta of Bheemadolu Mandal in West Godavari District. Police is investigating the case.
