As expected, the TRS party is putting up a very impressive show in North Telangana districts. Though its performance in municipal polls which reflected urban votes was meek, today the party has shown its strength.
In Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal TRS has secured close to 70% of MPTC seats and wrested most of the ZPTC seats declared till now inspite of tough fight with Congress.
Here Congress is able to secure only 20 % of all MPTC’s whereas TDP is still left with 5% of seats followed by independents. With reports that during general elections, the entire rural belt of North Telangana witnessed very high turnout, it may not be a surprise if TRS literally sweeps more than 90 % of seats in this region.
The trends clearly show that TDP has virtually been shunted out and TRS has moved quickly to take away TDP’s place in north Telangana region while Congress is still putting up a decent show due to its support in gaining statehood!
