Tough time for Telugu Governors?

Going by recent developments in the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, Telugu governors are going through difficult phase. While 81-yr-old Rosaiah has been facing hiccups in TN state due to arrest of former CM Jayalalithaa, CH Vidya Sagar Rao is presently ruling Maharashtra as Centre imposed a President’s rule in the state following the resignation of Prithviraj Chavan with the sudden end of 15-yr-old alliance of Congress and NCP ahead of general elections (slated for Oct 15).

If the sudden and drastic changes in very short span in both these states is anything to go by, many are of the opinion that Telugu governors are jinxed. Especially the case of 81-yr-old Rosaiah is drawing sympathy to many as octogenarian supposed to have ample rest but ending up having hectic work with transfer of power in TN. Even when he was the office CM of AP, he didn’t have smooth ride. It was a bed of thrones for Rosaiah as his tenure as CM was considered as most struggling period for government with Telangana movement at its peak stage. Unable to handle the situation, Rosaiah had to step down citing “health” reasons. He later opted to become Governor as he thought it’d be “cool” job but that too seems to be far from expectations. Let’s hope both Vidyasagar Rao and Rosaiah would soon overcome these hurdles.
