Is it true that Hari Babu is winning? Well it looks like everybody took money from Vijayamma but actually voted for Hari Babu, this was the statement by an auto driver ferrying travellers from Peda Waltair to RTC Complex in Vizag, according to a national daily.
Sources say there was little doubt in the minds of Vizag citizens as to who will be the winner of the Vizag parliamentary constituency and naturally it was Vijayamma. As the rounds progressed, sources say YSR Congress leaders were in disbelief.
Meanwhile equally surprised BJP cadre were celebrating that their Seemandhra unit president, Kambhampati Hari Babu, was creating history by overthrowing none other than the wife of former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YSRCP’s honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi.
It has been reported even Hari Babu had not imagined in his wildest dreams that he would defeat Vijayamma by a margin of nearly 86,000 votes. Having elected non-locals all the time, this time it is being said Vizag voters not only wanted a local candidate to win so that they can be available in the constituency, but they also reportedly felt that that in the case of Modi becoming PM, a BJP candidate can help to resolve Vizag-related issues.
