The Telangana on Tuesday came to a standstill. With the State government calling for total shutdown, for the conduct of Intensive Household Survey (Samagra Kutumba Survey), the state capital Hyderabad posed a deserted look. All government offices and most private offices have been closed and declared today as non-functioning day on the instructions from the Chief Minister KCR.
The roads of Hyderabad, usually, are busy and loaded with traffic snarls but on Tuesday they turned out to be calm, serene. RTC buses have been restrained to depots. Only few buses have been allowed to run in the morning and evening only for the sake of enumerators who take the survey. Public and private transport has come down heavily with this. The situation is no different in the remaining cities, towns and villages of the 10 districts of Telangana. CM KCR is monitoring the survey from his camp office.
