Sand business in Rajahmundry resulted in clash between ruling coalition partners TDP and BJP. MLAs and cadres of both parties indulged in verbal war. Rajahmundry Urban MLA Akula Satyanarayana and Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary fought for supremacy.
The incident happened when Buchchayya Chowdary went to launch a sand ramp. Members of Ullikota Women Organisation stopped him from launching it. Venkateswara Society made arrangements and invited Buchaiah Chowdary to inaugurate Kumari Talkies Sand Ramp.
Knowing about it City MLA Akula Satyanarayana expressed his displeasure and questioned why should Rural MLA interfere in Urban area ramp. At that time Buchaiah Chowdary warned Akula not to enter into his constituency. With both MLAs fighting even cadre got fired up. They even pushed each other.
It is known that TDP since its inception has good support in Rajamundry but as understanding TDP gave the urban seat to BJP. TDP cadre has no good rapport with BJP MLA Akula. So for quite some time protocol differences flared up between them.
