Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu called upon the media to do realistic stories by digging up the truth and advised them to stay away from sensationalism for monetary gains.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the Doordashan building in Vijayawada, Venkaiah said that the competition between television channels has increased tremendously and this has resulted in them crossing the limit for higher TRPs. Venkaiah pointed out television has become an intrinsic part of people’s lives in modern times.
He called upon Doordarshan to compete with other channels in terms of getting the latest news swiftly to people without fear or bias. Various state ministers were also present at the function. Speaking on the occasion Chandra Babu said that Doordarshan must grow as the number one channel. He also promised all support for the government media house to achieve this goal.
