We hear that already two to three sample models for Capital City were prepared by AP government. The radius of Vijayawada, Guntur and Tenali would be increased to large extent and thus a 184 KM outer-ring road will be laid. Going by preliminary reports, the construction cost for buildings, on par with global standards like Singapore, would cost around Rs 1,50,000 Crore. Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister P Narayana made it clear that it will take five to ten years to establish such hi-tech capital.
Meanwhile, it is almost finalized that new capital will be set up in between Vijayawada-Guntur. Siva Ramakrishnan committee, appointed by Centre, too inclined towards this region as it is centrally located from North Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, all government offices will also be set up in State capital. However, CM Chandra Babu Naidu has collected information from district collectors on available of government lands in each district. Naidu has chalked a plan to allot National institutes, research centres and other industries in the rest of the districts.
