It’s common fact that Kalvakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao is the supremo of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which was instrumental in creation of Telangana state. And the election symbol of TRS is ‘Car’. But what’s shocking and irony is KCR didn’t own a car. According to affidavit filed by KCR to Election Commission along with his nomination for Gajwel Assembly and Medak Lok Sabha constituencies, neither KCR nor his family owns a car for themselves.
KCR declared that he has assets worth Rs 16,94,82,464. He stated that he owns 60 gram gold which is worth of Rs 1,80,000 while his counterpart-wife Shobha has Rs 1,50,000 cash in hand and 650 grams of jewellery worth Rs 19,50,000. He declared Agriculture, business as his profession and stated that he owe an amount of Rs 7 crore including a loan.
The affidavit states KCR has two pending cases against him wherein charges are framed by respective courts under offences punishable with imprisonment up to two years. Above all, what’s most shocking and irony is Kalavakuntla family not owning a four-wheeler despite ‘owning’ a political party and having Car as its election symbol. It’s visible that most of the candidates reveal false affidavits to Election Commission. Hope EC will look into the assets and liabilities declared by candidates.
