Reputed news channel NTV faced ban.Dont worry .. it was not a permanent.NTV was given a directive from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to keep off air for seven days from February 3 to 10 for allegedly airing obscene videos in the midnight.

The decision took by Union I&B Minister of state (independent charge) Prakash Javadekar.It was taken after receiving an individual complaint against the channel for telecasting “obscene” content during Feb-March 2012. In the complaint they alleged that the show ‘Cine Colors’, which was aired at 11.30 pm for four months in 2012, aired uncensored hot clips from movies to lure the audience.

Acting on the petition union broadcasting ministry imposed ban on the channel from February 3 to February 10.The management of NTV has approached High Court seeking the cancellation of orders to ban their channel. T. Ramadevi, the director of Rachana Television PVT Limited, requested the court to cancel the orders saying they had already given their clarification on the issue to the ministry.

But the ministry clearly expressed that the channel flouted the regulations of the broadcasting law and imposed a week ban.
