The two former ministers contended that the CDs of their media conferences submitted by the agency to the court were not clear and that they would submit their counters only if the agency submitted original CDs.
The CBI court on examining the CDs said they were proper and directed Dharmana and Sabita to file their counters on July 12.
CBI which sought the custody of the two, arguing that they were likely to tamper with the evidence if allowed to remain outside, submitted the CDs of their press conferences in support of its contention. Stating that the two former ministers told the media that they had done no wrong and would come out clean, CBI questioned how they could say they had not done any wrong and assert they would come out clean, when the matter was before a court. The agency also contended that this was an indication that they would tamper with the evidence. When the two former ministers asked the agency for the source of the CDs, CBI said it got the visuals from the You Tube and other sources. Arguing that the visuals of You Tube were not authentic, Dharmana and Sabita demanded that original CDs be submitted to the court, for them to respond.
They also contended that there was nothing wrong with their explaining their voters why they had to resign to the cabinet.
It may be mentioned here that CBI had named Dharmana and Indra Reddy accused in the Jagan assets case, forcing them to quit the cabinet. The agency named Dharmana an accused in the Vanpic case and Sabita in the Dalmia case.
