Few days ago, ABN Andhrajyothi began a campaign ‘Rajadhani Pilusthundi Ra…Kadali Ra…!’ to collect donations for the developments of Seemandhra which is facing severe cash crunch post the bifurcation.
The one person who became a talk of the state in no time is Satyavani who was actively involved in the APNGOs agitation to keep the state united. While participating in the live discussion on the ABN news channel, She offered all of her gold jewellery except ‘mangala sutra’ she wore on that day for the cause of Seemandhra capital.
ABN went a step ahead and made sure the jewellery was directly handed over to chief minister-designate Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu who had no clue what to do with that jewellery as he is yet to be sworn as chief minister sought the opinion of former IAS Sambasiva Rao who is standing by his side. Mr Rao opined it wasn’t feasible to keep the jewellery with Naidu due to lack of government machinery. He then advised Satyavani to keep the jewellery in a bank locker and hand over one of the two keys to Chandrababu Naidu until he takes oath as CM. The issue has been resolved with both the parties agreeing to it!
Satyavani’s initiative inspired many people across Seemandhra and hence the donations were pouring ever since then. AP Pensioners Association has donated Rs 9 crore, Several Associations and Individuals have been coming forward to do their bit for building a world-class Capital in the new state.
