Story:

Sardaar Gabbar Singh begins with the introduction about the history of Rattanpur and the kings ruling the area. But the present King (Mukesh Rishi) gets a big headache due to the local feudal lord Bhairav Singh (Sharad Kelkar). He requests the government to intervene, Government sends Sardaar to Rattanpur via a promotional transfer to check the menace.

After his arrival, Sardaar falls in love with Princess Arshi Devi (Kajal) and first half ends with the clash of Bhairav Singh and Sardaar. It was then, Bhairav Singh gets Sardaar suspended. The rest of the story is all about how Sardaar stops Bhairav Singh’s illegal activities and destroy his feudal lord system restoring peace in Rattanpur.

Performances:

Sardaar Gabbar Singh is a one man show by Pawan Kalyan. In fact, the film is amalgamation of several fan tribute scenes for the actor and so Pawan Kalyan fans will enjoy the role blended with style, attitude, comic timing, acute punches, powerful dialogues and action episodes. The dance performance in the Sangeeth Episode will be a treat to fans.

Kajal Aggarwal is seen as a helpless princess and shares decent chemistry with our Gabbar. The villains from Sharad Kelkar to Pradeep Rawat have got some bad characterization which will not help the film. Brahmi and Pridhviraj were wasted in insignificant roles. Even our ‘Samba’ Ali is a disappointment.

Technical Performance:

First things first, the script delivered by Pawan Kalyan is disappointing to say the least. It is a routine beaten to death story and Director Bobby has to lift the spirits with some innovative scenes. He tried his level best to showcase Pawan Kalyan as how fans would like. But then with out a proper script, it is always tough to drive the point home.

After a strictly average first half, the proceedings go totally wayward in the second half and the Climax is again a big disappointment. It is amazing to see how the team believed our changing audience will be satisified with such mindless commercial entertainer.

Devi Sri Prasad had come up with couple of good songs and the back ground score is particularly very impressive. Besides Pawan Kalyan (the actor), Devi seem to be the one who did maximum justice to his role. Dialogues penned by Sai Madhav are good. Arthur Wilson’s Camera work is good while Production Values are grand. Gowtham Raju is not so sincere with his scissors. The Art department work by Brahma Kadali is good.

Plus Points:

1. Pawan Kalyan

2. Devi’s Back Ground Score

3. Anthyakshari Episode

Minus Points:

1. Story

2. Screenplay

3. Disappointing Second Half

4. Cliched Climax

Final Say:

Sardaar Gabbar Singh is no where near the output of Gabbar Singh or the expectations set by it. The film will end up as a disappointment for Gabbar Singh franchise lovers more due to a lack luster script. Pawan Kalyan fans may relish some moment of their demigod here and there but may not be satisfied fully. If you are going, make sure you carry very low expectations.
