The issue of Sania Mirza as Telangana brand ambassador is reportedly creating a split in the Telangana Congress leaders. TPCC cheif Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao reportedly faulted the TRS government for picking up Sania as the brand ambassador of Telangana.
While firebrand MP Renuka Chowdary has reportedly defended this decision and launched a tirade against critics of the decision. This was followed by Deputy CLP leader in Telangana Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir attacking his own party leaders, especially Hanumantha Rao for atrtacking Sania Mirza’s appointment as Telangana’s brand ambassador.
Shabbir has reportedly written a letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi demanding action against VHR for creating unnecessary controversies over such issues. He also accused VH of toeing BJP and RSS ideology of opposing Muslim players.
Well it looks like the party has no one voice and there is no unity and many say that Congress as opposition is acting like what it was earlier, as typical Congress style.
