In what is seen as shocking and perhaps, first of its kind in Telugu filmdom, the jewellery and ornaments to be worn by Anushka Shetty goes missing on the shooting sets of Rudhramadevi. Directed and produced by Gunasekhar, the film’s shooting is going on in Gopanpalli in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Shell shocked with this incident, the film unit has lodged a police complaint in Gachibowli police Station. The “stolen” ornaments have been identified as 1.5 kilos and estimated cost as Rs 30 Lakh. Two plastic boxes of original gold and dummy jewellery were reported missing. Cops have taken three suspects into custody and investigation is going on.
Neetu Lulla, of Jodha Akbar fame, has designed the costumes for the film. It is buzzed that the jewellery (designed by Neetu Lulla) sported by Anushka alone cost Rs 5 crore for Gunasekhar. The film is being made with a budget of Rs 55 crore. Touted to be India’s first stereoscopic 3D film, producer-director Gunasekhar is leaving no brick unturned.The film is maiden production venture of Gunasekhar under his home banner Guna Team works. While Rana Daggubati essays prince Chalukya Veerabhadra in this historical film, Allu Arjun is seen as Gona Ganna Reddy and Nithya Menen as his love interest.
