Imagine maverick director and controversies favourite child Ram Gopal Varma and bold Lakshmi Manchu teaming up together? And what if that’s a short film? Well, the result is “A day in the life of Lakshmi Manchu’s feet” and it’s been released in YouTube on the eve of Lakshmi’s birthday.

Right from the opening frame to till its end in the 3-minute-odd short film, the camera focuses Lakshmi Manchu’s feet. Director captures the daily routine of Lakshmis feet. Be the way she plays with her dog, or the way she steps out or how she takes care of her newborn baby Vidya Niravana Manchu, each one has been showcased in a different, novel way.

Particularly Lakshmi flipping through magazine with her feet is conspicuous and catches one’s eye. It might spark a controversy. Of course, Varma is not new to it. This apart, the short film showcases the cameos of Manchu patriarch Mohan Babu, his elder son Vishnu Manchu and younger son Manchu Manoj. Vishnu Manchu has done somersaults and mesmerizes with his antics in his blink-and-miss cameo.

Although there is no premise in this RGV’s short (as claimed by the director himself), Varma wants to tell the life of celebrity- particularly Lakshmi’s- through her feet. Satish Muthyala’s cinematography deserves special mention and yes, Seshu KMR (flowsound) is back. Varma sticks to his trademark flowsound format. RGV always believes in emotion more than content/story and he strictly followed in his debut short-film.
