According to grapevine, business baron-media tycoon Ramoji Rao has a strong connection with Rajamouli’s epic film Baahubali. Rumour mill is abuzz that Ramoji Rao has given a finance of whopping Rs 50 Crore for the magnum opus as the budget estimates have doubled during the shoot. Completely impressed with Rajamouli’s work, Ramoji Rao has come forward to aid the film, says rumours. Although there is no confirmation on this, the base seems to be that Ramoji Rao had earlier sent a personal letter of appreciation to Rajamouli during the shooting of the film in RFC in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the rumours about the film’s business and budget continue to hit the media every now and then. The last being Dil Raju buying the Nizam distribution rights for a fancy price of Rs 25 Crore and another leading producer, close to Rajamouli’s family, bagging Ceded and Karnataka rights for Rs 13 Crore and Rs 9 Crore respectively. Cynics have started raising eye brows at the figures and dubbed it as deliberate ploy for the makers to create more hype for the film.
Fact of the matter is this: Considering Rajamouli’s credibility and success rate, the filmmakers has no need to create such “false” hype and the film already has more than enough hype right from its inception. Being made in two parts, Bahubali-1 will have to get at least Rs 90 crore through theatrical business to make a breakeven says the sources from industry. If this is true, Baahubali first volume itself will have to get Rs 15 crore more than the full run business of the current industry hit Attarintiki Daredi.
