The state of residuary Andhra Pradesh may well be turning out to be a balm for the hurt and pained Seemandhra people. The much-awaited dream for the people of Seemandhra, a separate railway zone may be announced any time next week, according to sources.
A separate railway zone is all set to be carved encompassing Vizag, Tirupathi, Guntakal, Nandyal and Vijayawada zones literally spanning the entire new state of Andhra Pradesh. This would mean more funds and better railway infrastructure for that region.
Sources say that though UPA government led panel rejected a new zone, this may become a reality with NDA at the centre. It is heard that the designate CM for Seemandhra Chandrababu Naidu is playing a key role for that.
The zone may be called ‘South East’ and just like the new capital, even this one will reportedly have Vijayawada as its headquarters due to its central and strategic location. This would mean some really good developments for that region.
