More than giving up few more MLA and Mp seats to BJP, the bone of contention between BJP and TDP poll pact seems to be Ms. Purandeshwari joining BJP since Mr. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly doesn’t want to make a power center. Naidu is apparently unwilling to give her Vishakapatnam seat or Rajahmundry seat, rather wants to shift her to Vijayawada or Tirupati, where YSRC is stronger and it would be difficult for ex-central minister to win with good majority.
Being the daughter of legendary NTR is causing lot of worries to Mr. Naidu, since if the BJP wins, she will be calling the shots in Delhi and she could counter the moves of Mr. Naidu to take a big role in Central government. Her win would affect Mr. Naidu at the state level too and if TDP loses the elections under Mr. Naidu for the third time in a row, then party cadre would be urging Ms.Purandeshwari to take up the reins of TDP and he would be left with no choice, since he can’t deny as she heir apparent of legendary NTR and also proved her admistrative skills and also is capable to countering political rivals, diplomatically and shrewdly, is perfect CM candidate for TDP in the next elections.
Looking at all this hungama, it seems that Mr. Purandeswari had a hidden agenda in joining BJP, since he can’t easily shift from rival parties Congress to TDP overnight, since her father hated Congress. With BJP not a big force in AP, the daughter of ace politician could takeover TDP, if Mr, Naidu loses his way. Do you think, Purandeshwari is the right choice to lead TDP in future?
