TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the YSR Congress Party of using violence to win the elections in Seemandhra region. He spoke to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills alleging that the YSRCP resorted to violence and hired anti-social elements to influence the voters.
“YSRCP used fake currency notes, spurious liquor and other illegal means during election campaigns. The rowdism which was confined to Pulivendula has now spread to entire Andhra Pradesh. Five persons died after consuming spurious liquor supplied by YSRCP leaders. They even tried to drop the polling percentage fearing defeat.
However, I thank my party workers for withstanding and peacefully countering the YSRCP violent drive in Seemandhra region. I am confident that the TDP would win 120 to 130 Assembly seats and 20 to 22 Lok Sabha seats in the elections.
I’ve written a letter to the Election Commission of India seeking re-polling in nine villages under Jammalamadugu mandal because YSRCP acvitists rigged the elections using force. I also requested the Election Commission to take appropriate measures to avoid any untoward incident,” Naidu informed.
