Politicians compete to adopt AP villagesInspired by Prime Minister Nrendra Modi’s prestigious ‘MP model village scheme’, many politicians are competing with each other to adopt villages across India.
MPs from various parties are adopting village even in Andhra Pradesh. While PM Narendra Modi is getting ready to adopt Jaipur village of Varanasi to remodel it as ideal village, Nirmala Seetharaman today announced that she will adopt two villages of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
She tweeted “Adopted two villages in West Godavari district- on the sea coast: 1.Pedda Mainavani Lanka & Toorpu tallu. Mostly fisher folk on sandy dunes.”.
Earlier Cricket God and Congress MP from Rajya Sabha adopted a village called Puttamraju Kandriga in Nellore district. He is all set to visit the village to oversee development activities.
Venkiah Naidu adopted hudhud hit Chepalupada village along with his family members and already announced that he will provide Rs 25 lakh to the village from the MP Local Area Development Fund.
