Actors and filmmakers believe in sentiments. They quite often repeat hit combinations or positive omens with credence of delivering another hit. Likewise, Superstar Mahesh Babu and makers of his 23rd film have also locked a lucky date to release their film.

Pokiri released almost 10 years ago on April 28th in 2006 had created history by becoming a highest grosser in Tollywood. Mahesh Babu’s new film in AR Murugadoss’s direction would also release on the same date of April 28, 2017, if some reports are to be believed. Will Mahesh repeat history with this film?

Usually, Mahesh Babu opts to release his films during holiday seasons. Since they can’t release the yet to be titled high budget entertainer film for Sankranthi as it is highly impossible to wrap up the things within 3 months’ time, they feel summer is other best season for release. And, they locked the lucky date.

Like Pokiri, Mahesh 23rd film is also billed to be an action entertainer. While Mahesh played an undercover cop in Pokiri, he will be seen as intelligence officer (IB specialist) in the new film. Pokiri was remade in Tamil, whereas Murugadoss is making his film as Telugu-Tamil bilingual.

Currently, Mahesh23 is being shot in a huge set erected at EVP World. Major portions of the film will be covered in this Chennai schedule planned for 20 days.
