Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the port city of Visakhapatnam on Tuesday to review the situation and get a first hand report after cyclone Hudhud made a landfall on Vizag yesterday afternoon.
Cyclone Hudhud has caused huge destruction by destroying many in its path and claimed five people. Several thousands are left homeless. “Will visit Visakhapatnam tomorrow and take stock of the situation,” Modi tweeted. The prime minister already spoke with the Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and received updates about the havoc caused by the cyclone.
Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet will be taking stock of the situation by working from Vizag and the officials are instructed to work at war foot pace to restore normalcy in the region.
