Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is utilizing all the ways that comes to help his state. Recently the State government has announced its intentions to harness solar energy for overcoming the acute power shortages.

Now Chandrabbu starts working on this and holding discussions with officials across the world.Yesterday Advisor to US President Barack Obama and chairman of Rocky Mountain Institute Amory B Lovins called on Naidu at his residence and discussed prospects of sharing of environment technology for development of Andhra Pradesh.

They discussed technology sharing in the field of energy security, energy production, and power utilization and saving methods in the truncated state. Lovins expressed his country’s willingness to share the latest knowledge and technology for development of the state.

According to press release from Naidu office Mr Lovins expressed his willingness to share the latest innovations in promotion of soft energy technologies based on solar, wind, bio-fuels and geothermal.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh was a front-runner in exploitation of soft energy technologies like wind and solar power and apprised him of the headway made by the state in using pollution-free and environment friendly technologies in power generation.Naidu also highlighted the road map of solar and wind power generation in Andhra Pradesh.  Lovins said using of environmental technology would go a long way in bringing down dependency on oil.

‘’The US can eliminate its addiction to oil and coal by 2050 and use one-third less natural gas while switching to efficient use and renewable supply, and similar opportunities exist in India,” he said.Lovins is a well-known American physicist, environmental scientist, writer and an authority in the field of energy policy and other areas.

According to sources the AP government is contemplating setting up solar grids of photo-voltaic cells in barren lands spanning over 2,500 acres in north coastal Andhra, coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is seeking help of central government and he reportedly made a presentation on the government’s plans to Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal during their meeting that happened recently.
