In yet another horrific incident which is similar to the Delhi’s Nirbhaya gangrape, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by four persons in a moving car in the prominent IT area of Salt Lake in Kolkata last night.

According to the complaint lodged with the police, the victim, a Nepali origin who has been staying in the area for the last three years, left her residence in an Uber cab around 11 pm on Sunday to a coffee shop. However, she mistook the location and got off near College More at Sector V.

She then asked a young man nearby for the coffee shop address and he called three of his friends on the pretext of locating the address. His friends arrived in an SUV and offered her lift to the coffee shop. Unaware of the impending horror, the lady stepped in the car as it sped away.

All the four accused took turns to rape her and after nearly four hours at around 3 am on Monday, they pushed the victim out of the car in Salt Lake. A taxi driver spotted her and took her to the police station and the police admitted her to Bidhannagar Sub-Division Hospital, where medical tests confirmed rape

Till now, all the four accused are absconding and cops are conducting raids besides checking the CCTV  footage to trace the vehicle. The incident has been informed to the officials at the Nepal Consul General.
