The parliament witnessed the chaos when the UPA govt introduced AP reorganization bill before the elections. Now once again the parliament is going to face the heat of one more controversial bill in the form of Polavaram.
Its known that recently an ordinance issued by the Centre on inclusion of submerged mandals of Polavaram project in Seemandhra. The Modi Government cleared the Ordinance transferring 7 Mandals in Khammam district in Telangana that fall under the Polavaram submergence area to Andhra Pradesh, in the first meeting of the Union Cabinet.
Now the Central government is determined to push ahead with the Bill to replace Polavaram Ordinance. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu hinted about this and he identified it as among the three priority Bills of the Government to be brought to Parliament in the Monsoon Session of Parliament commencing from Monday.
The government also intends to bring bills to replace the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Ordinance, another is the Designs Bill of the Commerce Ministry.This will be the first bill that the Modi government expected to table in Lok Sabha and it may be passed despite the opposition of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and BJD.
Other side Telangana Rashtra Samiti said that it will oppose the Polavaram ordinance when it comes to Parliament to be converted into a bill.They have demanded that Polavaram dam issue has to be placed on hold till a meeting of all chief ministers of the four states is held for a consensus The NDA government is counting on the support of Congress, TDP and YSR Congress that it feels will be handy in ensuring that the bill passes through Parliament.
