Siva Rama Krishnan committee established in order to look in to various options for Andhra Pradesh’s state capital is touring the entire state exploring the suitable place. The committee has so far received 6000 proposals for the capital. They are touring selected places in the 13 districts and are studying various factors like availability of government land, accessibility to all the people, ability to attract investors etc.
They are taking all the views of local leaders, people and people’s organizations locally and will be submitting their report to Center in August last week. The best suitable place will be announced as the state capital only after August. The committee has to be very careful in making recommendations so as to minimize the chance of getting one more situation like that of Telangana between Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
