From few days speculations were rife about possibilities of inclusion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi life story in school curriculums. However today Narendra Modi opposed the idea of including his life as a chapter in school textbooks. He was commented on the moves by the Anandiben Patel government in Gujarat and the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in MP to include his life story in school syllabus.
Modi makes his point straight and loud, expressing disinterest about including his story in history chapters of students. “Am reading in the news that some states want to include Narendra Modi’s life struggles as a part of school curriculum. I firmly believe the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum,” Modi tweeted. He also added: “India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today.
Young minds should read about these greats and emulate them.” The Bharatiya Janata Party governments in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were planning to include his life story in the school syllabus.Whether or not the state governments will go ahead with the proposal is a serious question. With Modi himself shutting down the idea, students may not have to read about India’s new prime minister after all.
