The first Chief Minister of truncated Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu is pulling out all the stops to restore normalcy in the cyclone-hit districts of Coastal Andhra. At 64-year-old, Naidu is working rigorously and restlessly round the clock to ensure fast relief and rehabilitation measures for the victims of Hudhud.
Since Sunday (October 12, 2014), Naidu has been working sleeplessly. Naidu has arrived in Visakhapatnam on Monday and turned it into his new home. Little did anyone know that Naidu is staying in a bus in Vizag and turned it into his office, home. A man of Naidu’s stature could stay in a high-profile guest house, but Naidu didn’t want comforts at this stage and working rigorously day and night towards the relief measures.
Naidu is not alone. He has brought Ministers, bureaucrats, telecom service providers along with him and ordered them to work hard 24×7. Naidu’s list of priorities include supply of essential commodities, fix nearly 40,000 electric poles, and repair the infrastructure. The damage for airport, Vizag Steel Plant and Andhra University have been estimated as Rs 500 Crore, 1000 Crore and Rs 400 Crore respectively. Naidu firmly believes that piecing the city back together into a blooming industrial town is top among his priorities. He is not in a mood to leave Vizag until normalcy is in place.
One after the other issues have been hitting back one after the other. Be it deficit budget or new capital row or GAIL fire accident or cyclone Hudhud, Naidu is flooded with problems. Yet they didn’t deter his courage, conviction and determination. Naidu took them in his stride and delivering his best. That’s Naidu, a quintessential leader with conviction, for you.
