Naidu seeks Rs.1,00,213 Cr for Capital

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has made a claim for central assistance of at least Rs.1,00213 crore for rebuilding a new capital and the the AP economy which has been battered after the bifurcation of the state and devoid of the Hyderabad.

Naidu made a power point presentation to the commission which is at Tirupati and narrated how the state suffered now without resources, infrastructure and the need for growth engines to trigger economic activity in the state with 13 districts. He requested for waiver of the central debt of Rs.10,0090 crore and a special package of Rs.24,380 crore for development of Rayalaseema.

Chairman of the 14th finance commission Y V Reddy has reassured that the commission will extend all support and assistance to the Andhra Pradesh which needs to rebuild and reshape its base, economy and also administration after the bifurcation of the state.

In his presentation Chandrababu said the state has set up seven special missions and would also set up grids for drinking water, Optical fibre, Roads, Power and Gas to speed up processing of projects and attracting investors. Tourism and Ports will be developed to exploit their full potential for the growth agenda of the state.
