All eyes are on the meeting of two Chief Ministers Chandra Babu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao which is scheduled for today at Raj Bhavan. After Governor ESL Narsimhan put pressure on both CMs to sit and sort out issues, finally both KCR and Naidu concede to Governor’s request. The big question is that will KCR and Naidu iron out the differences? Issues like students’ fee reimbursement, PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), sharing of undivided institutions between AP and Telangana, distribution of waters are expected to take precedence during the closed-door meet.
Given that KCR has bluntly snubbed Naidu several times before, including staying away from his swearing-in ceremony to severe jibes at Naidu, all that may work against the meet. Its easier said than done to thrash the conflict as Naidu may not forgive KCR for his harshest comments and remarks, opine political pundits. Though Naidu is ready to forgive KCR, there is no guarantee that KCR would accept Naidu.
Talk is that senior TRS leaders have told KCR to go slow on Naidu and PM Narendra Modi as this may backfire. Keeping this in mind, KCR may shake hands with Naidu. But even if KCR accepts Naidu, how long does it remains the moot point. All these are definitely unanswered questions at the moment.
Meanwhile, ahead of the meet, Chandra Babu Naidu is going to release a White Paper (Swetha Patram ) on the ‘Loss to AP due to bifurcation’. Naidu would be releasing the white paper, just an hour before he meets KCR. This is expected to set the mood of the meeting. But right from the Union government to people of both States Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including students, government officials, employees, corporate biggies, are all focused on this meet and hoping that good days are in store for them. Stay tuned for more updates.
