Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart KCR are expected to meet eye-to-eye very soon. According to reports, both Babu and KCR would meet at Governor ESL Narsimhan’s Iftar Party on coming Wednesday (July 23) in Raj Bhavan. It has been regular practice for Governor to throw annual Iftar Party at Raj Bhavan. But this year Mr Narsimhan has planned for elaborate arrangements as this is the first time he will be acting as Governor of both the States and hence, dignitaries of both AP and T are expected at the do.
As per the protocol, the Chief Ministers of both States need to be present for a few minutes before the Governor arrives for the function. Preparations are being made so that Governor Narasimhan sits in the middle with the two Chief Ministers sitting next to him. Besides this, both Naidu and KCR would expect to meet again at ‘At Home’ event at Raj Bhavan on the eve of Independence Day (August 15). Since Hyderabad is capital for both States now and Governor is one, there will not be two separate events.
Thee has been rift between Babu and KCR for a while over several issues including power sharing, water distribution, nativity issues, student’s fee reimbursements. It needs to be seen, how Naidu and KCR react. Although time and again, Naidu offered olive branch, KCR snubbed him. The big question remains unanswered is that will they bury the hatchet?
